Spring only (mostly) lift

BDS, ReadyLift, Smaxx... You name it, we know about it here.

All done with the rear springs :woot: . Once again I had the 85's up front from the factory. I installed the Moog 81114's up front with a Mark 1/2" spacer. The rear got the moog 81069's. Finished result is 2" up front and about 1 1/4" out back. It looks like the only difference between the 81071 and the 81069's are just an inch free length, the thickness of the spring is the same. May make for a nice option for those who want some extra ride height but don't want the rough ride of the z71's. The ride of the Tahoe HD (69's) springs seems no different from factory or the Tahoe standard replacements (71's). Since these are rated for a 500lb heavier truck I don't expect too much sag fully loaded. I was hoping for 1 1/2- 2" of lift over all so if they sag slightly over time Ill still be very happy. It doesn't look lifted, it just looks right, why didn't they just build them this way?

This thread is a year old, but do you know the design load and spring rate of the Moog 81069 is? I've been looking at the Tahoe/Avalanche HD springs from Raybestos, but I haven't made the decision to buy yet because I'm worried they will be too stiff.

What about rear springs? That's the part I'm wondering about.

I went with XL/EXT springs from Raybestos. If/when I get to the lift, I hope to replace my front springs with the Moog 81114 springs. I believe they are identical to the Raybestos front springs for the XL/EXT.

I have come to the conclusion that the springs for Moog, Raybestos, and NAPA are all the same thing, maybe produced by the same manufacturer. The specs for all of them are identical.

Not for nothing but I love my EXT. Did a 2.5" leveling kit in the front and now have about 6.5" from tire to fender.

I just got a quote from Coil Spring Specialties. Coils 2" longer than stock, front and rear. $225.40 per pair for the front and $218.10 per pair for the rear. Same spring rate as stock 15125883 and 15207608. What do you guys think?

I like that idea. The only issue I can think of its compressing them. I had issues with the moog springsbut they seemed to have more coils.

Been running this for a year and still very happy. The ride is good, firmer than factory but far from harsh. I was looking for alittle more height and capability and that's what I got.
