Spacers-cause we don't talk about them enough lol

Need new shoes? This is the place to discuss.

So this is another spacer thread...yay.
I am the new owner of 4 wheel spacers from Amazon. Guess where this is going......

Anyways I put all 4 on, lifted the tires to take weight of the studs while tightening them to 95ft.lbs. driving to school I noticed considerable shaking...great!

I took them off and rotated them back to front. This helped a lot. Now the shaking is primarily around 65-75 mph. And up steep hills.

Is this just a critical point where no matter how many spacers I put on there will be shaking? What I mean is does this speed in combo with my 2 inch lift and spacers throw off my aerodynamics and wheels.

My question is to help me decide if buying the quality spacers from markmc will fix this or if it will be like that no matter how many spacers I put on.
Also what is the chance of getting to bad batches of spacers to the same person? I have heard if very very few machining errors or problems from mark's spacers but I have negative luck if that is possible.

Thanks.

Sorry for more spacer questions!

This happened with my new tires and old so I'm fairly sure it isn't wheel balance. It happened directly after installing spacers.
Also I tried an alignment and no change. Just so y'all know I tried to fix it lol

Just to be sure....you took the stock lil keepers/washers off the studs so the spacers sit flush right?

Well damn. I know you said you lifted the truck so weight off, but did you slowly tighten in a pattern to keep the wheels natural weight from having them slightly off center? Cross pattern a bit at a time to keep lugs centered in holes?

Yes sir. I tightened them in the same star like pattern for each wheel. First to 90ft.lbs then to 95

I'm going to guess that your Amazon ones are not hub centric, right?
I feel spacers are not somewhere to be budgets minded. All of your trucks weight is on those spacers all the time, and they are a rotating component that, if it fails, could result in catastrophe. Yea, I'm glad I paid for the good stuff and made sure I got the best fit.

I forgot you could even buy spacers that were not hubcentric to the vehicle.

The mounting to the wheel to the spacer has never proved to have issue with being lug-centric as most are that style.

So to answer my question, I should get some of marks spacers right?
And you think that this has a decent chance of fixing the problem?

I would say so. As long as you know your alignment is good, it most likely will fix your issue

I bought MotorSport Tech about 5 years ago. Maybe 80-90k miles on them and still holding strong.

If this looks like the problem I reckon I need to order from mark. You think if it doesn't fix the problem he would allow me to return them?
