if I ever finish the build chart that would be easy to find out

Nakashige, tbangert are also running the 265/75/16. I haven't gotten much further.

Rory, don't you need wider rims to run those 285's?

the 285 needs a wider than stock rim, it's why i stuck with 265s, can only hemmorage so much money at once.

i should have worded that differently, i haven't found any tire manufacturer that specs a 7" wide wheel for a 285 width tire. there are guys on here that run it though, some say they're comfortable with it others say they aren't. I've also seen everything from a 315 to a 245 on a 9" wheel. do some reading and make an informed decision.

I was thinking it was outside of the manuf. recommendations so I wouldn't want to do it.

Rory, let us know how much trimming you have to do to get them to fit.

I ran 285s on stock rims and never experienced any ill effects. It is obviously up to the operator how much of a "risk" they want to take, but I would not hesitate to recommend that setup to anyone.

Looking at the balloon effect with my 8" rims, I dont see why a stock rim wouldnt work. There is very little ballooning on mine and Ive seen some REAL bad ballooning on other trucks

They are mounted, gonna ride up on ramps one tire at a time a turn wheels to see what I need to cut. I will chalk where I need to cut then do them all at once, I like the chalk Idea so I don't backwards and cut the wrong area like someone did :poke:
