Wondering what you folks thought about this tire:

http://www.firestonetire.com/productdet ... nation_A/T

Going with the 255/75/R17 tire size. Should be good for offroad and not bad on road. Think it is a good buy? Trying to upgrade from my 245/65/R17 once I get my 2.5" suspension lift and wheel spacers installed.

kinda of hard to tell if its a good buy without a price.

I think it's a good tire for 90% onroad and 10% offroad style vehicles. With the level of aggressive terrain that your vehicle is suited for, if your vehicle gets stuck, it won't be due to tire style.

Just get the M/T's, you'll regret it if you don't!

Type the tire size in google and read the reviews there from way more people.

Get something in a 3-ply sidewall... I had them in the stock size, and they were really good tires on the street, in the snow, and on the rocks. I was just walking right up stuff that people with M/Ts were spinning all over. However, I got 2 deep sidewall cuts, one of which deflated itself rather quickly, and caused me to trash the set of them. I went with the BFG AT in the 245/70-17 size, 10-ply, and they are so much better all around than the Destination A/T. They aren't quite as quiet, and they are, of course, rougher, because they're 10-ply, but anything involving traction on any surface, they are much better. They're not going to be a mud-terrain in the sticky mud, but they are a much better all-around tire than mud terrains... You just give up mud boggin' strength...

This is just my opinion. I work for another tire company and we have a Firestone right down the street from us. We get a lot of Firestone's business simply because their tire quality is not all that good.

Their tires are prone to separation issues, they ride rough and loud and they do not last anywhere near as long as Firestone claims.

This is just what I get from customer feedback. You are free to make your own decision. I just want to make sure your getting opinions from both ends of the spectrum before you make a purchase.

TreadWright makes great tires, they are retreads but many of us here run them without issue. I think most have the GuardDogs but you may like the Wardens, they are a bit more street friendly A/T tread.

Josh ran those on his old TB, too expensive if you ask me. He has used M/t's now. The used M/t's are way better than these were brand new. Also, The M/t's are 100% fine on the road.

My M/Ts (Destination M/T) were fine on the road, too... As long as I religeously rotated them, and didn't drive them in the snow... They got to being pretty decent all-around tires when I cut and siped on them, though... Still louder than the 12-valve Cummins engine...

I didn't do a whole lot of mud with my truck, and they sucked for traction on wet grass (without tearing it up, anyway), so I sold them and got some of the Treadwright Wardens (BFG AT pattern). These don't tear up the wet grass to get traction, are GREAT in the snow, and really do pretty decent in everything but the clay-mud that sticks to everything, anyway...
