4 tires or 5

Need new shoes? This is the place to discuss.

just curious what you guys think. I'm already thinking ahead to my next set of tires. Planning to go to a 265/75/16 when these wear out.
My thought is do you source a 5th rim of the same design and rotate tires through 5 so they all wear about the same or do you just keep the spare tire "new"?
I was thinking with 5 wheels/tires the same you get a little more life out of the set.
Also if you get the set 1/2 worn and one tire gets destroyed you still have a matching set and can source something used as a spare instead of having one new tire and 3 worn tires.

What do you folk think?

Thats what I will always do is have a full size spare. to me it dont matter if all the rims match as long as the tires match for me.

Do it right and get 5. Rotate all 5 so you get the maximum mileage out of them and have a full size spare for when/if one goes flat.

:Iagree: And discount tire offers free lifetime rotation and balance if that helps, in the event you can't get the wheel #5.
