245/75/16 Will Work

Need new shoes? This is the place to discuss.

by ironman_markv » Wed May 25, 2011 6:07 pm

I just went to walmart and through the help of the effort and information provided by all of you experienced owners i have more proof that the 245/75/ 16 will work without ANY modification. i bought Goodyear wrangler authority's and they work perfectly. the leave about 1/4" clearance from the ball joint.

will post pictures shortly

What is people's obsession with stuffing as big a tire as possible into a confined space so you lose all ability to flex?

I could rub my 265's front and rear even with a 2" suspension lift....

I do to with my front, Hopefully won't when the 88's are in, whenever that may be... :wallbash:

Edit: Aren't 245/75/16 a stock tire? May not be, but it's what mine had when I got it.

my stocks were 245/70/16, so i didnt gain much but the tread is enough to take it off road successfully, def wouldnt have worked with the stocks i had on it, i would have slipped on every pebble imaginable.

My stockers were 245/70. I had replaced them with 255/70 and when I first lifted two years ago I had 265/70 BFG all terrain with no rubbing and about 3/8" clearance. Since then, my liners have been manipulated, but not removed. And any tire I run from this point forward will require spacers anyway. Sorry for the horrible disorganized thought bubble.

Oh, and.....

Pics or it didn't happen!!!

Not a bad looking tire, have looked at them several times. Just don't come in a size that I am looking for. I see that Walmart did a great job of reinstalling your center caps, as usual. If you haven't already you may want to fix them before they fly off.

245/70/16 or 245/65/17. Some trucks came with 235/75/16 for some reason, but I hear that even the door placard has that size listed.
This is an aggressive post. You probably won’t like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to be able to appreciate a post of this quality and depth.

That's the problem.

I have missing alignment tabs on three of my caps. I hope that's not the cause.
