newbie punch list

02 tb lt. So here's the layout, 3" mark's suspension lift, 1.5" wheel spacers, 265/70/17 tires, what about the control arm flip, oh and new coils all around as well as shocks and struts.
Will post picks when done. Did I miss anything needed to be done for a mild lift.
No mountains here just beaches and snow. got all of this except the tires for less then the coil overs for those who would like to suggest.

Depending on how you run trails (solo or with a group) you might consider recovery equipment, emergency supplies, communications gear, and underbody armor. Especially the oil pan skid plate.

if you haven't bought tires already I'd suggest the 265/75, it's a little more height, no more work.

I'd reiterate what roadie said too.

that's a solid setup, most guys are happy with it.

Thanks for the info, mild off road here. Just beaches and snow. I was looking at the 265/75, 32" vs the 265/70 31.6" . I like taller and less work for sure. Was wondering about brake line work, drive shaft angles and the front short shaft. Im used to dealing with all of that with my trail rigs. This is primarily a street beast, with the small bit of mild off roading.

None of that is an issue with the tire size mentioned.

They are on the charts, , A 267/75/17 would be 32.6" A 255/75/17 would be 32"

You know, I like the idea of the title here. The post doesn't really do it justice.

Maybe we should have a newbie punchlist sent out with the confirmation when they set up an account.

Things they need to do.

1. Fill out their profile correctly.
2. Review the Site rules.
3. Place your very first post in the "I'm new to offroadtb.com" section.
4. Never post a question in a section until you've read the stickies in that section and have an understanding of what you want to accomplish with your rig. Mall crawler (you will be ridiculed), weekend trail runner, mudder, rock crawler, SAS conversion.
5. Post a build thread. Prior to posting such thread, read and understand the format requested. Use the proper post to ask questions or make comments.
6. Learn to use the "search" function early. (this one could be moved up as desired)
7. Have a thick skin, you're going to get rubbed, understand why and learn from it, don't pout or everyone will jump on the band wagon (are you mad bro?)
8. Learn how the vendor section works. What is available, when and at what cost. Who do you PM. Maybe have a stickie in the Shockwarehouse section listing current usable part#'s. Either in vendor or in the suspension thread.

I'm sure there could be more, but these are the ones that popped out to me as I was typing.

You should compile them all into a book. I'd buy one for my coffee table.

I don't know that I disagree with anything Noel said, but I also don't know how it would be implemented with any effectiveness without causing a tremendous amount of work for the mods.
Could always start dropping the ban hammer for people that don't get on board quickly. But Caleb would probably have gotten banned if the mods were quick with the ban, that would have been a shame given his contributions now.

The forum has definitely "evolved" a bit.

Give em 4-6 months or something. I was lifted in that time frame and such. Jason said it perfect IMO. Another thing we could start is to "Clean the Forum". Delete all the Usless posts that can be search able and keep up on it. Thats one thing I love about this forum is the EASE of finding things using the search bar.

we can't do that, the member counts help raise advertising $$$ oh, sorry wrong forum

While member count does not raise any sort of ad numbers, it is a nice tally for us to keep track of (as a community). It gives us an idea that we are not alone in our endeavors. We delete all of the spam accounts, so everything that is in the system is a legitimate member. Kinda interesting that 1072 people have been motivated to lift their TB enough to actually sign up on this site as a member. When we were over on trailvoy, we had no idea... we thought there was maybe 40 of us.

Yeah, those are good numbers when you think about it. I've never even seen another lifted TB. Hopefully I will inspire some of the folks nearby like you folks have inspired me.

When I got my tires installed the other day the guys were giving me good comments about how good it looked (except for my "suicide spacers"). One of the guys said he only knew of one other guy with a lifted TB and that it was on 35s. I'm not sure he knew what he was talking about. I asked him was it a TB or an S10 Blazer and he said a TB like mine.
