It's something I've considered as well, the pillars in these things are already big enough.
Like you've, I've crossed plenty of water without incident. Even some fairly deep stuff. But yeah, one oops can be awful costly.

I am jealous of how we did my buddy's JK and it having a basically hidden snorkel intake into the cowl area. Nothing to see, but more protection.

Not much i can change about it. Besides the step down from the head to the down pipe. Other than that iv been pretty happy. And no i never did notice a difference in the snorkel heads. Honestly my next step is to just dump it into the sunroof. It's broken anyways so why not find a use for it right lol as for the pillar view blockage it's hardly notable. I'll take a shot from the drivers seat later today and share

Mine went pretty quick, and with very little drama. I wasn't going fast, had already crossed there in one direction, poof, dead.

I just ordered a snorkel for our FJ because of it lol.
