Are you going to add an access hole for the oil drain plug? Or do you have to drop the whole skid to change the oil? PITA in my book..

Well its kind of a PITA to change the oil filter with the skid on, IMO. 4 bolts. No big deal.

Good point. I didn't even think of the filter.

The hole is still a good idea, just to give the drain plug that much more room in case of a heavy drop. So the skid pan doesent jam up against the plug, risking you whole oil pan.

Agreed. Worst case scenario, if you fall on and bend the skid, you could push the bolt right into/through the pan.

The oil pan is stronger than you give it credit for... The drain plug does have a gusset on it, and the oil pan is a stressed member with the front differential mounted to,and going through it... Before I started making skids, the oil drain plugs held up to quite a bit of stress in the vertical, under the stock plastic skids...

I mean if I or someone bent 7/16" 6061 they would probably have had to seriously gotten some air and came down on a huge rock lol

But apparently fish is a hardcore Offroader so he'll have to get one and see if he can punish it

another thing about a hole is if you develop a leak it would kind of direct the oil there to help you spot it faster than when you change the oil.

Looks like an expensive piece I don't need and what's the support for the big front wing thing?

if you are designing new steering knuckles consider building them to fit the TRE from a 2500 pickup.
Some of the member here have reamed out the stock knuckles to run them. They are much heavier than ours and I understand they are cheaper as well.
