What else, pray tell, is in that stack?

ETA: Should probably put it in a separate thread in our classifieds, come to think of it.

Hey guys, here is my update. i talked again over the phone with Brian from customer service / tech support. He is a great guy, he knew who I was and what I was calling about right away. He also gave me my tracking #, so according to fedex I should have the new angled riser by the 2nd of January.

He also forwarded my offereing to help re design the lower part of the mount for our trucks so this problem would be fixed out of the box as an updated kit or whatever.

Ill let you guys know when the new part shows up, and I can take some pictures of the install.

cheers,

Z

UPDATE

My part came in today, just as Fedex said it would! :excited: Its alot bigger, and really heavy compared to what I was expecting.

here are some pics for now, while I go outside and try to install it. I hope that this is a good fix, but I think there is going to be some cutting involved to make this fit without destroying the center console, and still being able to clear the seat enough for it to slide back and forth freely. As this was my main complaint about the install.

Wow Z and this is only after you complained?

That looks like a none used suspension peace from a closed down GM plant.

Bet James and Roadie will be jealous.

The kit is installed, in -5, while it started to snow. Some may call me crazy, I say ts commitment to not leaving things un done :angry whip:

As I thought, I was not able to move the mount closer to the center console area by the shifter as Roadie has his.....

So I turned the bracket and pointed it towards the glove box, this now allows me to slide my seat back and forth, I dont have to cut anything on the truck or the mount. It seems pretty solid. Now I just have to get a laptop mounted up hahahaha. I will hopefully have my laptop in a week. :excited:

As u can see here, the mount comes out to far, and hits the center console....

Image

The piece would have to be moved quite a bit as you see in the pic in order for it not to hit the center console.

Image

So i decided to point the riser towards the glove box instead...

Here are some pics of it all installed and ready to go.

Can you open the glove box more than 2"? Is it any less in the way of the passenger's legs?

Good question bro. i just went outside and checked, and you are right, the glove box doesnt open very far. Im going to give Ram a call right now and let the guys know. Hopefully my pics will help them come up with a new alternative.

I would send them pics of where Roadie has his mounted too, it seems the best location so far!

Good luck!

Zero, why don't you make a proper mod thread for this now that you have pictures and it's all together. Just link to that thread from here, and I'll lock this one if you want.

Is this not considered completed? You'll just be potentially changing it down the road... which we all do!
