I was just wasting some time surfing the web and came across these.

Seems like a good idea. What's your thinking?

I've seen these in a review before, seem to be pretty good, just a little pricey. I think they are stack-able.

When I finally get a gas container to mount to my swing arm, it will more then likely be a couple of these as opposed to a jerry can.

I can see multiple uses for them, though they are a bit pricey I like how modular they are.

Been a fan of them for awhile.
I hate to advocate weird chemicals, alcohol, violence or insanity to anyone...but
they've always worked for me.

They started out in the ATV market, right?

I find them interesting, but I don't really understand the benefit. Maybe one of you can explain it.

Yep. Been in suv world for awhile.

Stackable. Able to lock in place. Flat and thin allows for mounting low on roof or between tailgate n spare.

They are indeed thinner, but they seem to have a much larger footprint.

Are they any more space efficient than a jerry can? I'm guessing not since a gallon of gas always takes up 231in^3.

Probably depends on what you envision, mounting wise. If all you put on your roof is a couple 4 gallon cans, mounted flat... I could see it being a better option. But if you have a lot of junk up there already, finding a space for a large object like that could prove difficult.

One would fit with my new packing plan for my roof basket but a jerry can likely wont. I have three full width totes and only a couple inches extra between them. I could slide a roto between the totes but don't think I can get jerry can in the rack. I do have a mount I can connect to outside rack but roto would be nicer cleaner fit. See lots of jeeps that slip them between tailgate n tire.

They did seem to start of in the atv world but this is the pic that introduced me to them.

I like the modular design and that they have ones made for regular storage as well. They are a bit pricey, but I don't think it's really over priced.
